Graduate Programs

The strength of UW-Madison's graduate program in Forest Ecology and Management is based on highly regarded faculty who are recognized internationally, and on the excellence of supporting disciplines, including agricultural and applied economics, botany, statistics, soil science, wildlife ecology and others required for the development of a broad graduate curricula.

The Department of Forest Ecology and Management follows the guidelines for the Master's and Ph.D. degrees established by the Graduate School in terms of minimal course requirements and acceptable grade point average.

Students interested in applying for admission to one of the graduate programs in the department are encouraged to contact individual faculty members regarding the potential availability of financial aid, including research assistantships. These forms of financial aid are awarded on a competitive basis and may or may NOT be attached to a decision to admit. Qualified applicants are encouraged to contact the Graduate Admissions Coordinator (608-262-9975) with general questions concerning the department's admissions process, or to consult the requirements of the Graduate School.
